Home Sweet Home

This is the home my great grandparents built almost 100 years ago. My aunt and uncle now own the home and there are have been additions and remodels, but the basics and charm are still there.

Hillary

Here are a few images from the Studio Lighting class I took on Saturday. Hillary was amazing to work with, she took direction very well and knew exactly what she was doing (which is always a help to those of us... aka me, who are still not used to working with models). Although we talked about High Key, and Low Key lighting we focused on shooting High Key.

Newborn Shoot - Freya

I had the opportunity last night to take pictures of my friends brand new baby girl. Freya was born Monday June 29th and was 5lbs 5oz when she was born and had lost a bit of weight, so she is just tiny!!!

Grace vs Power

This time of year the Big Cottonwood Creek which runs through Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountain Range is at high roaring levels. Many people have been swept away by the waters of this river thinking they could cross to the other side. Watch your step.

Update: I had someone ask what settings I used for this shot... here they are
ISO 100 / f22 / .08 secs

SLDP - on the road - All Work and No Play

The hope that I could sneak away for a few minutes and take a few pictures has not turned into a realistic situation... My time here in Tempe has been jam packed with offices, hotels and conference rooms... I did get a moment to snap the above pic with waiting for a meeting to start this morning but fear it may be the only one I get from my quick trip.
Does it convey the 106 degrees it is outside right now?

Enter Here

This bright red door leaves no question as to where to enter the church.

Sorry the posts have been a little hit and miss lately... with all the rain we have had here in Salt Lake over the past two weeks I can't seem to get out and shoot anything new and the archives are running low... The weather should be better this week and we will get back to our daily posts. For now, Have a great day and enjoy.

SLDP - on the road - Madison, WI

I'm in Janesville, WI this week for work and being so close to Madison I thought I would check out Wisconsin's capitol city. I have to say, I loved it! It really is too bad there isn't a consistant Madison daily photo blog... it really is a cool city.
